Project Type:  Institutional Size:  74,322 sqm (8 buildings total) Credit: Wenjia's Previous Experience at MRY Architects & Planners The College of Material Science Research and Classroom Building is a dynamic academic complex composed of eight interconnected buildings that spans over 74,322 square meters, forming a cohesive network of education, research, and collaboration spaces for faculty and students. The program integrates classrooms, wet and dry laboratories, research studios, and faculty research offices, supporting a wide range of learning and discovery activities. At the heart of the complex, a central atrium serves as a vibrant hub, providing pre-function space for adjacent primary lecture halls and meeting rooms, encouraging interaction and knowledge exchange. The northeast corner is defined by an iconic eight-story Icon building that announces the campus entry, framing linked courtyards and offering spaces for exhibitions, small gatherings, and informal study. Serving as both a research powerhouse and a social hub, the College is positioned to advance innovation in material science while offering an inspiring environment for students and faculty alike.
