Asia School of Business

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Project Type:  Education Size:  455,285 sf Year:  2024 Credit: Wenjia's Previous Experience at MRY Architects & Planners Photographer:  Tom Roe Photography The Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a 455,285-square-foot academic complex designed to support a new model of business education for the region. Opening in 2024, the campus is envisioned as a place where innovation, collaboration, and leadership development converge. The design organizes classrooms, breakout rooms, faculty offices, and event spaces around a striking central atrium, which serves as the heart of the school. This open, light-filled space encourages interaction among students, faculty, and visitors, fostering the exchange of ideas and the building of professional networks. Architectural elements throughout the building reflect a blend of contemporary design and cultural context, with warm materials, vertical sun-shading fins, and generous glazing that brings daylight deep into interior spaces. Flexible learning environments are paired with informal gathering areas, ensuring that collaboration can happen anywhere on campus. The building also integrates sustainable strategies, including efficient mechanical systems and daylight optimization, to reduce environmental impact while enhancing comfort. As a whole, the Asia School of Business campus creates an iconic academic environment that supports its mission to develop the next generation of business leaders in Southeast Asia and beyond.
